It is a strong laxative. It normalizes vitiated Kapha-Vaata. Relieves pain. Removes organic toxins from the large intestine.
Useful in Vaatavyadhi, Raktadosha, Twakdosha, Shwas (asthma/breathlessness), Kasa, Hikka, Gulma, Upadansh (syphilis), Kushtha (skin diseases), Ajeerna (indigestion), Adhman (flatulence), Aatopa (gurgling abdomen with pain), Aamvrudhhi,Malavarodh (constipation).
Useful in Jalodar (especially in KaphajJalodar).
When diseases such as Apatanak (tetanic convulsions), Apatantrak (hysteria with loss of consciousness), Aakshepak (convulsions) are associated with Kapha, this formulation can be given for Strotoshudhhi. (Clearing the channels).
